The capacity of a popcorn machine is measured by Quarts per Hour, which represents the maximum output if you operate the machine continuously. Choose your model based on your peak hourly demand:
| Kettle Size | Hourly Output | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| 8 oz | 110-160 Quarts | Home theaters, small offices |
| 10 oz | 160-210 Quarts | Small retail shops, school events |
| 12 oz | 200-250 Quarts | Medium events, party rentals |
| 16 oz | 240-320 Quarts | Cinemas, large venues, stadiums |
*Output based on a 40:1 expansion ratio on popcorn kernels.
For the perfect crunch, use a 3:1 ratio (3 parts corn to 1 part oil). Avoid over-oiling, as too much oil can make the popcorn soggy and mask its natural flavor.
While sunflower and corn oils work, PopBria strongly recommends Coconut Oil. It provides the authentic cinema aroma, remains stable at high temperatures, and leaves significantly less carbon buildup in your kettle, making cleaning much easier.
Not at all. PopBria machines are designed for easy maintenance:
Microwave popcorn is often dry and uses artificial flavorings. In a PopBria machine, kernels pop in a bath of coconut oil and seasoning salt, allowing the flavor to be absorbed during the expansion process for a richer, theater-quality taste.
Popcorn requires 13-14% internal moisture to pop. If stored in dry or warm conditions, kernels lose moisture. A loss of just 3% moisture can render a kernel un-poppable. Always store your kernels in a sealed container in a cool, dry place.
Safety is our top priority across all models. Every PopBria machine is built with high-quality tempered safety glass for impact and heat resistance. Additionally, our kettles and heating elements include built-in thermal protection to ensure safe, continuous operation for any event.
